The weekend is mine

It is Saturday before daylight and I got bacon and sausage on the stove cooking. I am about half way through my coffee, when I realize that my sister Glendon will start her weekend job in less than a half an hour and will work till four in the afternoon. It sure seems like it will be a long day for her. When I came home from work last evening, mom started talking to me about the events of the day. I couldn't stay outside too long, because the bugs were starting to bite me on top of my head and on my face and on my legs. I was worried about getting red welt marks from the bites. It didn't happened. I came in and took an evening bath and the bugs were gone . I was feeling more normal. I am happy to have the weekend. The weekend belongs to me.

Friday's wish

This is entry post number 121. Wow, I made that many entries which I find amazing. I stepped outside on Friday morning to find it a little cooler, but I didn't feel by all that much. Coffee is nice and strong so I should have a good start for the morning. I guess the best time to tackle work projects is in the morning. I reach a point in the afternoon yesterday where everything I did would turn out wrong. Nothing would work right. This is the point where I just wanted to start the day over again. Today, I hope to finish up some of yesterdays unanswered questions. Today is also garbage day so either mom or I will have to take out the trash. My sister goes for orientation for her new job which she starts tomorrow feeding horses. She does this and few other task only for 20 hours and two days out of the weekend. I haven't decide on what to eat for breakfast. I may do the Lillian thing and have a yogurt. She usually starts out the day with a yogurt. May the day be good and the weekend be better.

Ready for the weekend

Coffee is finished percolating. It should taste very good this morning and start the day out right. I am looking forward to the weekend and it should be pretty nice. Maybe a bit of yard trimming if the weather isn't too hot. I would love to see the beach again and watch the kids play on the beach which has been lots of fun. My sister got a weekend job where she will be outside feeding horses. I know she likes horses, but on the weekend I don't want to be connected with the job. I didn't pick any yellow flowers, but I have seen them around the Osteen bridge in great numbers. It looks like a bouquet of yellow flowers. The sun was just starting to make a show catching entrance when I got to Sanford yesterday. Maybe, I will have something that nice this morning on the way to work.

Coffee is very good this morning. It is the Barnie's Chocolate Cherry Cordial. Mom has a mixture of Maxwell and Starbuck's coffee. The weather is turning nice, but I still have allergies. I see lots of fall flowers on my drive home. It usually is too dark going to work to see any flowers. I do look forward to the cooler weather. The weather man says it is coming.

Tuesday on a roll

The weather man says rain today. There is a front, slow mover coming through. He says scattered storms as early as noon and also a depression forming in the Atlantic. Now I hear about a car fire, Tuesday night football at the Citrus bowl, crash in Sanford with people in critical condition. The news people are all excited spilling the news as fast as they can. I hope everybody is safe today and work is very productive.

Chinese lunch sounds good for Monday

Monday has arrived and no jazz festival to enjoy. It is pretty routine. Empty garbage, eat some breakfast, get dressed, take medication, drive in car for almost two hours and arrive at work ready to work eight hours and then come home. I do get a lunch break with my lunch partner Lillian. Both Lillian and I usually explore different restaurants around the neighborhood. Chinese sounds good to me today. I like starting Monday lunch with won ton soup and we get some sort appetizer before the main meal. The Chinese restaurant is never over crowded, but does have a good lunch crowd. Service is fast and we are back to work with time to spare.

The end of a weekend

Soft pink clouds layered the sky as evening came so quickly. It is like someone turns out a lamp light here at the beach. Tonight I just stayed home and didn't go out to watch the mothers, dads and young kids play at the beach. Last night mom and I watched a couple of young girls who were rolling down a small sand dune. They had dug a hole in the middle of the dune so that would be their cave and little hide away. They were covered with sand from head to toe and thought nothing about it. Screaming and squealing while throwing sand at each other, they were using all this excess energy that young kids have. The mother had a camera and was lounging in a chair. She didn't think anything about how much good this playing was doing wearing down the energy level of her daughter. When I went to get money for the work week, I got out of the car at the ATM and I could hear the people over at the bar laughing across the street. I can also hear some of the people talking loudly at the beach. I was able to feel the sea breeze that blew threw the parking lot at the bank where the ATM is located. I wasn't able to breath in the salt air from the waters edge, but that is always an important memory when ever I go to the beach. Tonight, I am baking chocolate chip cookies and listening to The Amazing Race and not even thinking about tomorrow. I am just enjoying tonight.

Lazy Sunday

Sunday, Lillian and I declare it a Lazy Sunday. I watched part of Columbo and slept through other parts of Columbo. Now, I am talking to Lillian on instant message. There will be plenty of work tomorrow. Getting ready for work and driving to work and putting my eight hours and coming home and getting gas, money or supplies as needed. This is when I go into high gear. Right now I am enjoying resting and just having time off from my normal routine. Lillian decided to take a nap or watch tv.

Saturday Morninig

This morning is so nice and Sunny. It is also the first full day of fall. I got a little bit of bacon on the stove. It is just a little after 8 this morning and full of hope and ideas like going to the movies, cutting stuff up in the back yard. Drinking in the coffee and soaking up the day. I would like to see the beach this weekend. I know less people are over here, because the summer season is over and they are enjoying being home and doing stuff around the house. I wish weekends could last longer.

I usually jump about six feet when I hear or see the word snake. My co-worker said that a snake slithered out of a junk car in back of the building and disappeared. Another co-worker came over with some bug spray and sprayed the area so it would discourage the snake from hanging around. I am looking forward to the cooler weather. Hopefully, the day will be snake free.

This is my sister the horse lady. She also takes care of chickens and collects the eggs. She also takes care of a turkey. She has three cats and two dogs. She lives in the country and not really in the city. She is close to the city and can go into town when she need something. She likes Gator games and she like for the team to win the games. She is also into eating organic foods and likes the Democrats.

Traveling down memory lane, it is so nice to preserve old pictures. Today is suppose to be a rainy day and cooler weather is suppose to come afterwards. The temperature is suppose to be in the 60's. I guess by tomorrow night, I will find out if this is true. Time isn't a friend to me today. Got lots of stuff to do and little time to get it done. I keep referring to the Jerry Reed song " Long way to go and a short time to get there".
The rest " I'm Eastbound and watch that bandit run" from the movie Smokey and the Bandit. May your goals be plenty and your accomplishments much more.

Starting the new week

Shuttle coming back on Wednesday. Rain coming tomorrow. Cooler weather hopefully coming here. It is the start of a new week and full of hopeful promise. May this week be a safe wonderful one that has lots of accomplished goals.

Exploring NBC I ran across Saturday Night Live with Ricki Martin and Monica Lewinsky. Both are figures from my distant past. Ricki had his nice figure, but you knew he had aged. Monica let herself where dark drapey clothes that didn't make her look good. Sunday is a good morning to sleep in, but I am up with the coffee and the internet. I did see the beach last night before sunset and it looked really nice. The wind was blowing and the sun was setting. Mom and I just watched the ocean for a while before going home for the evening.

Looking back

Sometimes it is fun to stroll down memory lane. This was a trip where I got to look at some real World War 2 planes with guns where the airman was able to shoot at other planes. I got to see what the missions were assigned to the airmen. I wonder what things will be considered antique 20 years from now?

Saturday looks good

My mom got to walk on the beach and told me that very few people were walking along the water. I put in another day at work and still I felt that I hadn't accomplished enough. I see the end goal, but a lot of things to do along the way to reach the goal. My sister said the weather would cool down to 60's. I have seen Golden Rod, but no changing of the leaves. I am so happy that tomorrow is Saturday and this is a weekend to enjoy. I couldn't get to the blog this morning because the server wasn't working. I can write now and enjoy it.

Ready for the weekend

I finally found a computer game that I am addicted. It is called Ocean's Express. It is a game where you put different shapes into the cargo of a ship. It is a challenge that I can't seem to win. It still has me hooked. Only one more day and then the weekend. I am so ready for the weekend.

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

It would be easier to fly this morning. There is a truck accident in Port Orange on Interstate 95. Traffic will be tied up for hours so that means heavy traffic driving into work. At least it is the middle of the week and just a couple more days until the weekend. I hope the rest of the week is easier driving.

Tuesday, the day after

I had a person at work mention that I better vote Republican or Independent, because the gas prices were coming down. This is what I plan not to do. I want to change ideas and direction and this means that the Democrats need now to be in charge. The one thing that I would like to see change with the state is the need to use Private Companies verses the use of state workers. I believe the money and work should be centralized and not spread out to some unknown source where there is no assurance on how things would be handled. Regarding 9-11 I saw some flags fly half and some flags fly full. I guess this will remain a day where people can express and vent on how they felt when the airplanes destroyed all those people in the Towers, Pentagon, and the plane that crashed. Today is a new day of hope and ideas. I hope I can accomplish a lot at work and have a nice safe full productive day.

Monday back to work

Monday, back to work and Orlando. The weekend is always too short. Coffee time seemed too short. The weatherman says less rain which will make nice driving conditions. I got the honey over the weekend and watch some television and mostly played on the computer. There will be a lot of memorial services on television to remember September 11, 2001 on tv which I will miss. I think I am ready for Friday again.

Sunday is here and the shuttle did take off yesterday on time. Today I got a picture of Morgan the new dog that belongs to my sister. She looks young, very friendly and playful. I haven't been outside yet. It is still dark, but I think the moon is out. I bet the mosquitoes are also out. Mom and I also refilled our honey supplies at the vegetable stand on State Road 415.

The weekend is here

Today is Saturday and I will take the weather if it is raining or if it is sunny. It is nice to be in Volusia for the weekend and out of Orlando. I would like to get refills on the honey which means a trip to the vegetable stand on state road 415. My aunt from North Carolina sent a forward about illegal aliens using Social Security. It seemed like heavy stuff to read so I will let my mom decide on what to do with it. I would choose to delete it, because I like to keep my environment simple.

Friday 100th posting

This is Friday September 8, 2006 and it is the 100 posting of this blog. Driving home through the storms has been tough and a chore. Yesterday, I drove through several floods on one street in Orlando. The day before there was lots of ground lighting that was scary to drive in. I did see one lighting strike that split five different ways on the ground. It made me wish to be home all that much more. My sister has a new dog, but I haven't seen any pictures yet. She is also going to the Gator's game either tonight or tomorrow night. I hope she doesn't encounter the massive rains that I have endured on the way home.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

The shuttle is suppose to be launched tomorrow, but I have my doubts. It could happen, but they might have to wait until October. I drove through a bad lighting storm last night avoiding getting gas, because of the lighting strikes. I need to get gas to go to work this morning. The week is almost over and I look forward the weekend to be able to sleep in more. My sister is going to the Gators game with a friend. I hope they have a good time, but I am glad I am staying home. It will be nicer and safer.

No shuttle today

There will be no shuttle launch today so lunch time won't be disturb. There is suppose to be technical difficulties. Hopefully it would hold off to the weekend. I would like to see it on the weekend. It will be another rainy day. I hope the rain comes only while I am working.

Wish for a nice safe day

This is Tuesday September 5, 2006 and it feels like Monday. There are so many chores to do and I am going at zero speed. Mom has her full day and so does my sister at the election polls. I hope today goes quickly at work and we come home safe and sound. All of us and start a new day tomorrow. May everyone else have a nice safe day and come back tomorrow to do the same.

Dedication to the Crocodile Hunter

It is Monday (Labor Day) and I heard the news that Steve Irwin passed away. He was the Crocodile Hunter on television and represented his zoo The Australian Zoo a half a world away.
He was wild and zany when it came to entertaining the audience with the animals and reptiles he was trying to display. I will forever remember the commercial where he tackles the stuffed Florida Gator mascot. I did see his movie, but I did think it was a bit on the corny side. He left a lovely wife named Terri and two children which he will never see growing up. Hopefully his wife and children will get all the love and support from the remaining relatives and friends and the zoo will go on with Steve Irwin memorials.

Sunday morning

The shutters came off this morning and it made the house a lot lighter. Mom and I had a breakfast of eggs, bacon and oatmeal. I let mine sit until the end. I like my oatmeal cooler verses hotter. It seems that hot stuff doesn't seem so interesting. My sister Glendon will be watching the US open tennis. She has her week and mom and I have ours. I guess we talk some on the phone and e-mail and instead messages that makes it work while.

Back to a Normal Routine

I am back from the Ernesto with no pesto and I got a small resto. I went over to my sister's house when Ernesto looked threatening to the State of Florida. It is a big production and I was glad we took Tuesday through Friday off to secure the house in New Smyrna and drive over to Levy County which is clear across the state through the Ocala National Forrest. The weather has been so hot and unbearable. It made stopping at the gas stations to refill on gas and recharge me seem more enjoyable. I am simply amazed how gas prices have dropped through the Ocala National Forrest. I was just sorry that I didn't bring my truck along to refill. Tuesday morning was so crystal clear at the beach and beautiful that I question why we are leaving. Mom and I pass along to each other that we could be at a seafood restaurant having a mixed drink. The weather went downhill later in the day. When we got to Williston there were small bands of heavy showers. My sister is into organic eating stuff, so I brought a few things that she might like to eat such as soups (Tomato, French Onion, and Squash). I brought some chips for me so that I wouldn't feel so far away from civilization. Glendon made a big rice and pork dish with some mushroom soup that really didn't have much flavor. The next night when Glendon was at Church for a prayer service, mom and I ate what mom cooked. It was round steak fried with some bell pepper and onion and a little tomato. I really liked that much better. It had more flavor and wasn't as dried out. Mom even made a small salad which was a dose of vegetables which she likes and I like it too. Since we got home today after visiting with my sister and all her pets and we went over to Hudson, Florida to visit my Aunt who is recovering from a stroke, I feel things will get back to a more normal pattern. I also want to go out to eat tonight just to get a taste of the local environment and get the storm shutters taken down tomorrow. It is worth looking ahead.
