Sunday Weekend

Mom and I didn't go to the Beach Park today. Instead, we watched Matlock and I made stuffed mushrooms which had mozzarella cheese, American cheese, and spaghetti sauce on top and placed into the oven until everything had melted on top of the mushrooms. We did go to the North end of the beach to see the waves on the ocean and to look at the ocean with the appearance of a lake looking back. The waves were the only action taking place on the ocean. In the distance, I could see one shrimp boat which disappeared later. Mom and I took a short walk on the beach. There were dead jelly fish picked on by a sea gull once in a while. We didn't stay long, because it had gotten cold. Mom drove behind the CVS pharmacy so we could view the sunset. We could see the bright orange yellow glow in between the purple stormy clouds that were scattered placed in the sky. I could hear the train whistle in the distance and could pick up the four note chord which the train whistle would make. It was a solid whistle that blew several times before a final few blows that were a cord lower as if the train had passed by and was head down the tracks in the distance. The final ones were long sighs and you knew that it was not going to last. I never got to see the train, but I had a mental picture. I had seen the tracks and other trains many times in the past. When we went home, mom cooked up some pork chops, mashed potatoes and made a salad. The day was over and we were both snugged in a warm house away from the cold and ready for a good night's sleep.

Time at a beach park

Mom and I went to the park on the North end of the beach where I bought a 20 dollar pass. We can go six times and we almost break even. This pass is good for one year. This park has a walkway over a mile long and sites to see. There is the NASA tracking station, Ponce Inlet lighthouse and lots of boats on the intercoastal waterway. There are dogs permitted on leashes, but the dog owner is responsible to keep control of the dog. He can't be involved with any doggy fights and he must not bother the humans. There was a Chinese Sharpe that had a long scrounge up nose. Most of the dogs seemed pretty lovable. The air outside was cold and breeze of cold air would blow through my pant legs and it made me appreciate the indoors a lot more. The sky had some blue tones, but was kind of white washed with white clouds. As soon as the cord to download the pictures is fixed, I can send some pretty pictures to people.

Old Pictures

Old pictures bring back quite a few memories. My mom showed me some house pictures from Indiana were we considered buying a long time ago. I forget the reason we didn't buy, but it was a house both mom and I liked. I don't know if this house is still standing today. It had a spiral staircase that was really cool. I was talking with my former co-worker Dick last night and he was telling me how drastic the weather has changed. He said that Southern Indiana was having floods. The rivers are flooding over. I wonder if we did go back and visited depending on the time of year would it be charming like the pictures we use to see or would it look not so pretty? I am still very charmed by our beach pictures and hope to enjoy them for a long time.

Lunches at work

My lunch buddy Lillian is back from Georgia and we go to some interesting eating places at lunch time. Today it was a diner in the City of Ocoee, Florida . Yesterday she was off on vacation and I took my lunch to the gazebo in the park. It was cool and shady and left me plenty of room to set out my turkey sandwich, drink, chips and tapioca pudding and some leftover peach cobbler from Sonny's barbecue. Friday we should be eating at Red Lobster and I am looking forward to some clam chowder and those luscious cheese biscuits. I hope the weather gets better, because tonight is windy and grey. I like to see some blue sky and puffy white clouds and warm sunshine.

Camera stuff

I can't take a picture for this one, because the batteries aren't properly fitting into the back of the digital camera. I can only describe the neighbor's new palm tree in the middle of his yard. My mom said that a hole digger had to put a six foot hole to hold the roots to this new palm tree that stands up straight with the help of a board. It is tall and thin and not interesting. It doesn't provide shade, but it does shed it's leaves. The trunk is so big and it is very unattractive. Mom said it reminds her of The Christmas Story where the father gets a leg lamp through the mail and it is the ugliest thing. This is how she feels about the palm tree. If the palm tree were gone tomorrow, she wouldn't be upset at all. The neighbor Laurel across the street also doesn't like the palm tree. It does give her something to look at. This palm tree is the object of the neighborhood watch. People want to know, what will happen to the tree. Maybe later the camera will work and I will be back to take some pictures.
