Back to a Normal Routine
I am back from the Ernesto with no pesto and I got a small resto. I went over to my sister's house when Ernesto looked threatening to the State of Florida. It is a big production and I was glad we took Tuesday through Friday off to secure the house in New Smyrna and drive over to Levy County which is clear across the state through the Ocala National Forrest. The weather has been so hot and unbearable. It made stopping at the gas stations to refill on gas and recharge me seem more enjoyable. I am simply amazed how gas prices have dropped through the Ocala National Forrest. I was just sorry that I didn't bring my truck along to refill. Tuesday morning was so crystal clear at the beach and beautiful that I question why we are leaving. Mom and I pass along to each other that we could be at a seafood restaurant having a mixed drink. The weather went downhill later in the day. When we got to Williston there were small bands of heavy showers. My sister is into organic eating stuff, so I brought a few things that she might like to eat such as soups (Tomato, French Onion, and Squash). I brought some chips for me so that I wouldn't feel so far away from civilization. Glendon made a big rice and pork dish with some mushroom soup that really didn't have much flavor. The next night when Glendon was at Church for a prayer service, mom and I ate what mom cooked. It was round steak fried with some bell pepper and onion and a little tomato. I really liked that much better. It had more flavor and wasn't as dried out. Mom even made a small salad which was a dose of vegetables which she likes and I like it too. Since we got home today after visiting with my sister and all her pets and we went over to Hudson, Florida to visit my Aunt who is recovering from a stroke, I feel things will get back to a more normal pattern. I also want to go out to eat tonight just to get a taste of the local environment and get the storm shutters taken down tomorrow. It is worth looking ahead.
