Tuesday events

Yesterday, I took mom's car and went out to the place where I had taken a picture of an Eagle. It was behind a building that use to belong to Winn Dixie. Winn Dixie moved down the road and left the building to the Republican party local branch headquarters. Plus a local MRI scanning place and a Outback Steakhouse on the other end of the building. I did not capture any picture worth keeping. The only bird flying overhead was a lonely seagull. I did capture the bugs that bite you all over and no one can really see. They look like tiny gnats. I also was bugged by a grandmotherly looking lady whom happen to be a Jehovah's Witness. I looked at her track of redemptive material for a minute or two and disposed of it in the near by trash can after she left. so I wouldn't have to get rid of it at home. The sky had greyed up. Plus, the weather was hot and muggy. The best place for me was at home. When I got there, I made a series of crackers, leftover turkey, cheese and topped with onion. I ate the turkey treats and fell asleep on the couch for an hour. The rest of the day was spent at home along with the television for a constant companion.

Crackers. I hope that they were Ritz. Last night I added Ritz crackers to our shopping list. We have one of the erasable note pads held onto the refrigerator by small magnets. It is good sized. About 12" long by 10" wide and so it is good sized. We have to use those special erasable felt tip pens and then we just use a dry cloth to erase. It is very handy for writing stuff down on the spur of the moment. I love the flavor of Ritz crackers. Ever since early childhood, I like to put peanut butter on a Ritz cracker and then grape jam on top of the peanut butter. Even better was cream cheese on a Ritz and then grape jam on top of the cream cheese. I would make a plate of these treats which was tedious and laborious but worth it when I sat down in front of the television to eat them and washing them down with a glass of Coke (sugar type soda when I was young and then sugar-free in later years. Get a box of Ritz crackers on your next shopping trip to the grocery store and have a treat. Lew

The Jehovah Witness usually hand out two magazine publications: Watchtower and Lighthouse. At the hospital in Phoenix that I worked in, we had a young man who ran our darkroom who was a Jehovah Witness. He was married and he told me one day that he and his wife had purchased a house trailer. I was critical of him because I told him that house trailers go down in value and houses go up in value. He said that having just gotten married they didn’t have much money. He told me that if he had gotten a house he would have had to furnish it of which he didn’t have anything. He said that a house trailer comes with a stove, refrigerator, living room furniture bedroom furniture, etc. He said that all that they needed to bring to the trailer was their pots and pans and tableware. I thought about it and it made sense to me because in a trailer everything is supplies. I told him that he was right and that I agreed with him. You are never too old to learn from the younger folk. Have a nice evening. Lew
