Remembering the hermit crabs

Last night's dinner was spaghetti. Mom also made a dessert which was a graham cracker crust line on the bottom with bananas, sugar free vanilla pudding, lite cool whip and little cherries on top. I was amazed by the numbers of hermit crabs I saw while taking pictures yesterday, behind the old Winn Dixie building. They lined the shoreline like little invaders taking over. I dare not walk barefoot that would be touchier. The claws look mean and could do major damage to tender feet. Some people would keep hermit crabs in fish tanks. There is a novelty store which gives away hermit crabs for free. Mom thought this was an interesting picture and she thought it was taken along the ocean shoreline. I told her it was in back of the old Winn Dixie. She was still amazed. I wonder what the hermit crabs eat? They must feast on something that comes in abundance.

In Miami there was a booth set up in a mall that sold hermit crabs along with a shell and all kinds of accessories, special food, and on and on. But it really didn't seem to be too popular. Probably after a nip or two from a crab, the idea of having a crab for a pet probably lost its appeal. That was a good idea that your mom had for using the vanilla pudding. Here's hoping that the cherries on top were maraschino cherries. Have you ever had green maraschino cherries? Mary uses them in her desserts on occassion. They taste just like the red ones. Have a pleasant day. Lew
