What a weekend

It is Monday and I am with Coffee. If they could only make a car that would run on coffee, then I don't think I would be too bad off. The car would have to run on any brand of coffee and not be an elite Starbuck's brand. Can you believe the cost of gas? How do people afford it? If I could find a car that would run on garbage, I would be fit for life as long as the engine would run. You could rest assured that I would never run out on a supply of garbage. There still might be enough garbage for my car and for the garbage man that comes on Mondays and Thursdays. This morning I have to take out a microwave that quit working to the curb. Once it is picked up some machine will crush it down to nothing and who knows what will happen afterwards. I was mildly interested in Jenna's wedding which no one else remotely cared about. It was sort of a rich fairytale with an elite group of people in exclusive ranch that had a bride wearing a super rich dress. The bride was the President's daughter and the ranch was in Texas. The pictures released to the public were beautiful of the bride, groom, the two In law families and the maid of honor and best man. The pictures were enough to satisfy my curiosity. Now, if my friend Lillian were to get married, I would want to know all over again what the details of the wedding were like. Sunday, mom wanted me to make he a breakfast, because it was Mother's Day. I was surprised at the amount of food I cooked. It seemed like a small feast when it sat on a plate before me. There were scrambled eggs with cream cheese that was from Smart Start and had Omega 3 in it. The eggs also had cut up onion and a little cut up green pepper. I also cut up four potatoes and diced them with some cut up onion and fried it in Olive oil. I also seasoned it well with pepper, salt, and Misses Dash. I also made stewed tomatoes with soft Italian bread soaking up the juice. The final touch was a small dish of creamed cheese grits which I made in a small glass pan. I had a little bit of seconds which overstuffed me. There was still leftovers which mom packaged away that we could eat at another time. Mother's day also involved watching old movies and taking an afternoon nap. I do feel better after a nap, but I wake up wondering where did the time go? Dinner was kind of a snack thing at Shells restaurant. We both had a cup of clam chowder and I ordered a Seafood Sampler which had a bunch of fried stuff like clams, small shrimp and zucchini with three different sauces. Mom ate some and then she had enough. I kind of finish it with eating the centers around the breaded coating. I had the shrimp and zucchini without the breaded coating. I did eat the clams with the coating. I drank about a glass and a half of ice tea and mom didn't finish her free Bahama Mama drink. She said it was too sweet. We came home afterwards and watch Survivor and mom opened her card from me before bedtime. It was a great way to finish the day. Now today I start a new adventure. What it will be you have to wait and see.

What a fantastic picture! The yellow color of the hibiscus flower is so intense. Plus getting the picture with a butterfly on it has to be a once in a lifetime type of thing. Actually in Miami you can run a car on garbage but in a long round-about way. In Miami they burn the garbage to produce electricity. So if you have an electric car then when you charge it up with electricity, you could consider that you are running your car on electricity. I don't know what is going to happen to the country's economy if the price of petroleum products keeps going up. It will probably make infration spiral upward. When we go shopping and something is on sale, we consider the price of the gas to go to that store if it happens to be out of the way. It may not actually be such a good buy after all. Mass transit is a good alternative if it is cheap and plentiful. In Miami we had lots of busses coming frequently and a monthly pass which would let you ride the bus and train unlimited.
Mary made an omelet one morning and put in the green pepper from her pepper plant that I had accidentally knocked off. She diced it along with some onion as well. My favorite is to have corned beef hash with the eggs in the morning. A very hearty dish but a heavy dish also. Why is it that anything that tastes good is bad for me. Have a good day and stay cool. Or at least think cool like from the movie Stand and Deliver which is a great movie based on a true story. If you haven't seen it, check it out from your library. Lew

I can hardly wait to read the next day. Mother's Day was fine, thanks to uwhoo. I must add that the picture of the butterfly feeding on the yellow blossom was taken right outside our front door, where beside the walkway is a gardenia bush crowned and loaded with fragrant gardenias. Stepping outdoors it is a bouquet that scents the entire lawn and blooms into a picture perfect day. It was an all natural Mother's Day, blessed in many ways,
