Power went out
It is miserable when the power goes out. I realize there is no power in the refrigerator. The fans don't work. The air goes off and the heat increases to an unbearable level. This happened this morning when a transformer blew out and the Utilities had to come out and fix it. Mom and I spent a couple of hours traveling to the bank and the North entrance on Flagler where I took pictures of a couple of shrimp boats out on the glassy water. People were enjoying the water and there was a nice breeze . We did not stay too long and had lunch at the Beacon. We went on to the Little Drug store where mom got some Lutein. I waited by the car, until she came back and we went home. The air was back on and the frig. works. I got the fan spinning over the computer and mom took off again for Publix before the afternoon storms. I did not see the big waves, but I don't know what we will have for dinner. I do know my sister is home. She only put in a half day today and she can recharge for tomorrow and the next day. If we do have the pork chops, I will enjoy them.

Amen. I agree with the misery of no electricity and thus no air conditioning. I have gotten use to the modern conveniences. I remember as a youngster, we lived in a two story house in New York. In the summer it was so hot at night. The bedrooms were located on the second floor. Hot air rises and so all of the hot air from the first floor rose to the second floor. I would complain about the heat and my mom would drag my mattress off the bed and placed it on the floor beside the bed. She said that it would be cooler on the floor. It really didn't seem to be cooler but I think that she was just trying to make me feel better about the heat. No one had air conditioning in the houses back then. Is the Beacon a seafood restaurant? What did you and your mom have to eat? We had fried whitefish for supper with scalloped potatoes, mixed vegetables and wheat bread. It was good. I especially liked the scalloped potatoes. I usually like anything with a sauce. For lunch today we had barbeque chicken sandwich and a roast pork sandwich. I added some additional barbeque sauce to my chicken sandwich and turned my roast pork sandwich into a barbeque roast pork sandwich with the addition of some barbeque sauce. See, didn't I tell you that I liked anything with sauces? We had macaroni and cheese with diced ham on the side. It was all quite good and I enjoyed it. By the way there were only two sandwiches on hoagie rolls; one barbeque chicken and the other the roast pork. Mary and I split the sandwiches having half of each. How does your sister handle the terrible heat? Have a nice evening. Lew
