The perfect job
I did not realize how relaxed this lifeguard was until I saw the picture. I thought I was seeing two people from a distance. However, what I thought was the other person was actually his legs. The lifeguard's posture was a reflection of the day. The beach was pretty care free of trouble. No one was getting shark bit. The big lifeguard tower did say over the loud speakers for three swimmers to come in. I think they eventually did after looking like they were struggling to tread water. There was a hamburger/hot dog stand that carried a couple of American flags pulled by a white Ford pickup truck. I took this picture in the morning before the storms came in the afternoon. The pattern here is the storms come around four in the afternoon and are done around six or seven in the evening.

Have you ever seen the movie Lifeguard starring Sam Elliot? I like the movie because of its premise that so long as you enjoy what you are doing in life, then that is what is most important and not how much money you make or the status that you rise to. You also find something similar to that philosophy in the poem Desidarata.
Enjoy your achivements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career,
However humble;
It is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
I really like that poem because it has so may truisms in it. I have the musical version on CD and I listen to it from time to time. And so this lifeguard right now is undoubtedly having the time of his life with a great job. And the white Ford pickup pulling the food stand. If you could pick only one, which one would you pick, hamburger or hot dog? Please tell me that you are not one of those people who put ketchup on a hot dog. Hot dogs are mustard, relish, and onion. Today we watched an old movie called The Bedford Incident starring Richard Widmark and Sidney Poitier. It was good. We got it from the library. Gotta go. Have a nice day and have a sugar free popsicle to stay cool. I do. Lew
