Starting a new week

Last night was fried chicken with mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. Mom has the makings for spaghetti, but I don't know when we will eat it this week. This is the one gardenia flower, I found not too long ago. Mom finally picked it after it started turning brown. It is now almost gone. It looks like a burned piece of tissue paper. Lots of chores like garbage, putting away clothes from the clothes line, putting away the clean dishes out of the dishwasher. I am sure we will be doing some other things today what we can squeeze in. I guess I can talk about that tomorrow. Good news with the eye doctor is no glaucoma and he doesn't want to see me for a year.

The flower is a bit blurry but I don't think that the problem is movement. I think that the blurriness is due to the auto-focuser on the camera because the small green leaf to the left of the flower appears to be almost perfectly focused. Our gardenia bushes got pretty chopped up in removing the dead wood from the frost last winter. But it is growing so fast with all of the sunshine in the morning and the rainy downpours in the afternoon, the two gardenia bushes are rapidly growing and should fill in nicely. Did you have any cranberry sauce with the fried chicken or at least some corn bread or Bisquick bisquits?
Tomorrow Mary and I are going to see the movie A Perfect Getaway at the West Oaks mall. Before the movie, Mary and I will go to Auntie Anne's pretzels and get a free cinnamon sugar pretzel for me and I am not sure what Mary will get. Then off to the movies at the reduced Senior Tuesday admission price. Once inside we will use our coupon for a free popcorn and we will purchase a diet soda. A pretty busy day of fun activities. Today we each got a free fish sandwich from Captain D's. We were both surprised at the size the fish sandwich. Each sandwich had two long fish filets on an oversized bun with lettuce and tartar sauce. The sandwich was bigger than the one at McDonald's or Burger King. It was a good deal and we left stuffed. We also split an order of french fries. Mary had a lemonade to drink and I had a diet Coke. Don't forget that Wednesday is free sandwich day at Arby's. Enjoy the free stuff. Lew
