Remembering the yellow flowers
The Osteen bridge is getting such a makeover. I doubt I will recognize it when it is finished. The two lane bridge will become a four lane bridge. The design of the bridge will probably provide less access to the view of the flat lands around in the area. I consider the site of a field of yellow flowers to be so rare. The only way I could take the picture was from my moving pickup truck. The traffic was so heavy there wasn't time to pull over to get out of the truck to take a picture of the surrounding area. Most of the time the flowers are gone. It is sometimes used for grazing for cattle. In 2004, the series of hurricanes about sent water over the roads. It was truly borderline on that issue. There needs to be places where people can get outside their vehicle and observe and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area. They have this at Paines Prarie in Gainesville. I believe it is called an observation deck.

All those yellow flowers are really spectacular. So pretty when you have so many like that. Sort of makes me want to go out into the field and lay down on my back amongst the flowers like when I was a child. I really liked laying on my back in the summertime and watch the clouds overhead. Very relaxing. And very comfortable when you have a very young body that is agile and nimble and can lay on the ground with ease. Lying in my parents hammock under the shade tree was a lot of fun also. But best of all was Mrs. Benson's slider. At least slider was what they called it. It was a sort of swing with two seats facing each other and while seated you could push on the floor and the swing would slide back and forth. It didn't go in an arc like a regular swing but would slide along parallel to the ground. Do you remember those type of garden swings? And sweet Mrs. Benson never objected to my playing on it. Gotta go. Time to do an online crossword puzzle with Mary. Take care. Lew
