Happy Thanksgiving
The rooster has started crowing. I had my first cup of coffee. This is a turkey dinner belonging to someone else, but we will have our all natural butterball turkey probably in the afternoon. The day will just be Mom, Glendon and I plus all the animals. Speaking of animals, Glendon's pet cat wanted in her bedroom very early this morning. He was very insisting of the idea. I tossed him out the front door, but I found him crying at the bathroom window. However, by the time I made my way back to the front door he had left for some other adventure. Today and tomorrow should be pretty good weather, but the weatherman on television said rain by the weekend. There is another cold front coming here to greet us. My sister Glendon will be working on the weekend. Mom and I will be back at New Smyrna Beach unpacking from our trip.

We are having a turkey breast for Thanksgiving. Like yours, it is also a Butterball. I got up at 4:30 to take it once more out of the refrigerator to complete the defrosting. The cold air woke me up and I felt that I was too awake to try and go back to bed. So I got a cup of coffee and a corn muffin which I heated in the microwave and then smeared it with butter (actually margarine). It was good. The kitten kept me company and used its claws to climb up my pant leg to make it to my lap. For a feral kitten, it is very affectionate and likes to play all of the time. I think that it will be a good cat. Mary named the cat Tammy. The turkey has already been put into the oven and has about a three hour cooking time. I imagine that I will start to smell the aroma of the turkey cooking before too long. The Butterball turkey came with a stuffing mix and also a gravy. Mary added some onion to the stuffing and then stuffed the bird. So far everything is going smoothly and on schedule. I went out this morning to get a paper for the Thanksgiving Day sales and especially the after Thanksgiving sales on Friday. I also got some lettuce and carrots for the rabbit. I went to Publix but it was closed. I guess that Publix isn't open on Thanksgiving Day. So I went across the street to Winn Dixie. They were open and they were busy. Got what I needed and returned home. It was a quick trip because the streets were practically deserted. Are you having pumpkin pie for dessert? It is time for me to go read the advertising flyers in the paper which will probably take an hour or two. The paper is thicker then the Sunday paper because of all of the flyers. Enjoy your turkey feast and get lots of pictures. Lew
