Sunday at the coast
Along with the churning wind, the cooler temperature has returned. I actually got cool inside our house. The temperature dropped to 70 and I was cool. I was used to 75 degrees inside. Mom said close the windows and the air will warm up. It did get warmer inside the house, but I longed for the cooler air outside. However, I know I would not crawl out from under the covers if the air turned cool inside the house. I didn't have my camera with me to take pictures of the waves in the ocean. I did see other people with their cameras ready to take pictures.
I thought they were also brave to stick their toes into the ice cold frigid water of Lake Atlantic. I figured if the air is cool on the outside the water must be like ice to the touch. As late as mom and I saw the ocean, I did not see a single boat out on the water. The seagulls were gone and so were the pelicans. I bet they were tucked away on bird island in the middle of the Intracoastal Waterway. Today, I am hoping for bacon and eggs for breakfast.

Oddly, sometimes I am not able to view your posts for quite a long time after they are posted. It is just intermittent and may have something to do with my server. I got rid of my old Hewlett Packard printer today because I just kept having various problems with it. It was old and probably just worn out. Around Christmas time I had gotten a new HP printer. Really cheap. It is a light duty printer but it does the job and the ink cartridges are easy to refill. Bacon and eggs are good. I especially like the bacon at Denny's because the strips are so thin that they just crumble in my mouth. Sometimes on the weather channel they will give the surf temperature. I know in Miami there were times when I went to the beach and the air was cold but the water was warm. This made it difficult to get out of the water because once I was wet, it made the cold air feel even colder. As a child when my parents came to Florida during the winter months I thought that the beach weather was nice and would play in the sand and swim in the water. But then I had come from freezing temperatures and snow and so by comparison the Florida weather seemed warm to me. Maybe that was the case with the people putting their feet in the water today. Mary had some tulip bulbs. She had put them in the refrigerator for awhile and then planted them in a pot with potting soil but they didn't grow. She waited and waited, but nothing. Figuring that the bulbs had probably rotted she emptied the dirt out of the pot and much to our surprise, the bulbs are in excellent condition. They just didn't grow. So she replanted the tulip bulbs in a pot with fresh potting soil and set the pot on a windopw ledge in the garage with the hope that the warmth of the sun rays will stimulate the bulbs to grow. Enjoy what has to be the last of the cool weather. Lew
