What is going on at your neighbor's house?
Mom and I have been watching our neighbors across the street slowly moving out. They had an open trailer hitched to the back of their SUV. However, it looks like a party there tonight. I don't hear anything like music, but there are maybe five to six cars parked over there. Today, the family on the street in back of us have had their roof replaced. The awful stench smell of burning tar hung around our house most of the day. I asked my neighbor Pauline if she smelled it, but she reminded me she had lost her ability to smell. Bummer! The odor died off this evening. I hope they are done and don't come back. There is a cool wind over at the beach. I did feel it coming from the ocean. I saw a lot of beach goers laying out in the sun. Some were playing in the water. I didn't test how warm the water was, but I figured it must still be cool for now. I saw pelicans fly overhead in formation. There must have been five or six pelicans at one time.

The bird in the picture should eat the seaweed. After all, if Andrew Zimmer of the television series Bizarre Foods can eat that stuff, the birds should be able to eat the seaweed too. I don't know how that guy can eat some of the foods that the people in foreign countries eat. I don't know if you get that program on your cable television but it is pretty "bizarre" (pardon the pun). That is what the picture of the bird made me think of. The weather here in Orlando this morning is cool and feels good. The cool weather is actually invigorating and makes me want to get outside and do things. I have lots and lots of projects that are both in progress and others pending waiting for their turn to be done. This morning I was't greeted with the sweet smell of jasmine but smoke. The smoke didn't smell like wood smoke but like the smoke that burning plastic produces. I saw on the weather on television this morning that New Smyrna is suppose to be filled with smoke. But that on-shore ocean breeze may save you from the smoke with your close proximity to the ocean. As for moving, it is an adventure. You lose the security of a set routine but when you move you get to see new sights and make new friends. Moving can be a little unsettling at first but usually works out in the long run. Now you are at the beach and can walk down and see the waves each day now that you and your mom have moved to New Smyrna. On the news on television this morning they were talking about an art festival in Winter Park. It sounded interesting and I was interested in going (another pun?). But then they said that 350,000 people would be attending and visions of the Mt. Dora art festival suddenly flashed through my head. All those people with the bumnping, and pushing and the way overpriced food. Nope, that's not for me so I changed my mind about going. On Tuesday, Mary and I are going to the movies at West Oaks mall to see the Nicholas Cage movie Knowing. I think that it is similar to the movie he made called National Treasure, which I liked. These are sort of Indian Jones type movies which are adventure movies. I like adventure movies because I just lose myself in the movie. And if the movie isn't good, the popcorn always is. We may get a "buy one, get one free" pretzel at Auntie Anne's pretzel place before the movie. I like the West Oaks mall because it is so brightly lit with sunlight coming in from the skylights in the ceiling which makes it very cheerful. The cat is starting to spend a lot of time outside now. But every time she gets scarred she runs right back into the house for security. When we are outside the cat usually stays pretty close to one of us. She is a very domesticated house cat and likes being with Mary and I, which is good. Have a nice day and enjoy your afternoon at the beach if it is not too smoky. Lew
