Sunday Morning
The valentine lunch was really good. The Breakers restaurant was packed full of people. Both mom and I didn't think we would find a place to sit. Someone finally did give up their table. The only drawback was the chairs were highchairs. You had to crawl up on the lower rim step of the chair to try and sit on the chair. The chair was light weight and subject to moving every which direction. Someone had to hold my chair, so I could barely make it into the seat. Mom had a little less trouble, but it still was a chore to get into the seat. We met our neighbor Pauline, her daughter Susan and Granddaughter Faith for lunch. Pauline had a big grilled bacon cheese burger. Faith had a burger with lettuce, raw onions, and tomato. I had the New Smyrna Beach burger which had lettuce and tomato with green peppers, mushrooms and onions fried together. Mom had a Ruben with fries. I also had fries. I didn't pay attention to the others who ordered fries. Susan ordered blacken Mahi Mahi which she shared with Pauline. The place was piled with people talking, drinking booze and moving in and out of people lines. I heard one customer say it was race week which accounted for the extra number of people in New Smyrna Beach. We parted ways after lunch. Pauline and Susan went on to Bealls, Mom and I went on to Publix and Faith went home to Edgewater. This was a nice little get together with the neighbors down the street.

Interesting photo with the two of the looking in different directions up and down the beach.
I think those high seats in restaurants should be banned. Not only are they difficult to climb into, like you said, but uncomfortable to sit in. These chairs that I have seen set around small round tables in restaurants, are totally absurd and have no place in a dining environment.

I agree with Blueherun entirely. Mary and I went to Chili's yesterday and they had the same type of small round tables and high chairs in the bar area of the restaurant. The maitre'd said that anyone who wanted to sit in the bar area could be seated right away and wouldn't have to wait. This would mean that they would be served their food on those little round tables. We opted for the regular restaurant area where they had regular tables. We had so much food left over that we had those leftovers for supper last night. There was plenty of food. Rocky road ice cream for dessert. Today we will be replacing a 4'x8' panel on Mary's shed. The existing panel has some water damage at the bottom. Have a nice day and today is Sunday so you're mom will probably make the traditional big Sunday type meal like a baked chicken or pot roast or meat loaf or ...... Enjoy. Lew
