It is almost the weekend

I wish there were something like a coffee drink for plants to keep them perking in the cold weather. I have to say I like the cold because when the heat comes back in the summer I will be complaining about how hot it is. Plus the humidity is very bad in Florida. It drains the juice right out of me. The cold usually lowers the humidity level. I like looking at the starlight during the cold weather because the starlight seems to be more vivid in texture and color. I am grateful not to be in Minnesota where our family friend Joe sends us pictures of him ice fishing. The pictures look to frigged for me to enjoy. I am not there, but I can feel the cold through looking at the ice in the pictures. This picture mom likes I guess because of the reflection of the birds in the water on the shoreline. The birds were facing West towards the setting sun ; except for, the two which have their heads turned the other direction.

Your mom is right. That is a nice picture due to the reflections of the birds in the water. Can you just imagine if that picture were a picture puzzle. If you had a piece of the puzzle that looked like it was part of a bird, you wouldn't know for sure if it belonged to the actual bird or the reflection. Interesting that the two birds with the black heads have their heads turned around so that they can rest them on their backs. All of the birds have their feathers puffed up to keep them warm. But their feet! Their feet are in the cold water. It must be tough being a seagull.
This morning I looked at a thermometer on the porch and it read 27 degrees. I looked for frost on Mary's car but didn't see any. In disbelief I went out to the car to touch the roof with my hand and sure enough, there wasn't any frost. Or any dew either. I guess that the humidity was just too low. The plants are all snuggled down under the blankets that we put over them last night. We will leave them on for one more day before removing them. Have a nice warm day. Lew
