I like pretty pictures

Mom and I did spend the evening at the beach yesterday and I saw two pelicans dive together to get a fish out of the ocean. I took my camera, but the batteries were no good, so I could not use my camera to take pictures. There was a small boat way off in the distance, but I couldn't tell the make of the boat. I couldn't see any whales or dolphins out on the water and very few people out walking on the beach. Mom made pork chops, mashed potatoes, and fresh green beans. I thought dinner was really good. I was expecting a phone call from a potential tutoring job which never came. I was mildly disappointed because I was looking forward to the challenge of teaching what I knew about English. I wasn't an expert on the subject, but I do have a love for creative writing and I wanted someone else to feel the passion of expressing their point of view. This is another little dog at the dog parade.

Fried pork chops are good. One of my favorite meals. But did you put chopped onion onto your mashed potatoes. It gives them an extra little kick. My mom worked when I was young. She worked at the grocery store with my dad. He was the manager and she was a cashier. We only had one car and so they rode together. Both of them worked long hours. My mom enjoyed working but still was tired by the end of the day. When she got home she wanted to make meals that had an easy preparation. One of her favorites was marinara sauce. A can of tomato sauce and a French's packet of marinara seasoning and presto, marinara sauce. She would put some chicken thighs into the sauce and let them simmer for 20 minutes while the spaghetti noodles cooked. I didn't like it at all because the chicken skin was all rubbery and the meat was not the golden brown that you get from pan frying. But as if that wasn't bad enough, sometimes she would take pork chops and drop into the marinara sauce instead of the chicken. Once again, the pork chops were pale and rubbery and not the golden crisp that you get with the pan frying. I remained silent and ate my supper when we had chicken marinara. But the pork chops marinara was more than I could take and I would complain bitterly that the pork chops were ruined because they hadn't been fried. So consider yourself lucky that your mom fries the pork chops instead of cooking them in marinara sauce. Bon apetit. Lew
