The first day of June
Last night mom and I had pork chops for dinner. We had mashed potatoes and cauliflower with cheese on top. There was a Bonanza marathon playing on television. We watched until we saw the same episodes being played again. The night before mom and I had spaghetti for dinner. I like both spaghetti and pork chops. Maybe, not on the same night. Today is the first day of June. The month of May is over. Tonight is suppose to be chicken and noodle soup. There will be no "Dancing with the stars" until the fall. Mom and I kind of got hooked into " The Bachelorette" which I think is kind of boring. I can not believe seeing the water so calm on the Atlantic ocean. I am always expecting the wave action. Having the water so calm puts a different light on what an ocean should be like. The waters doesn't have that crystal clear view you see in pictures from the islands. It is kind of grey and can easily hide a shark or two. When I see the people in the still water, I think of the "Jaws" movie and how unexpected those people were. Fortunately, everyone here enjoys a day at the beach. The only thing they might endure is a sunburn.

Boy, if I had known that you and your mom were having pork chops, mashed potatoes, and cauliflower with melted cheese, I would have stopped by right around supper time. Just kidding. The background scenery of the woods in the opening scenes of Bonanza looked just like Flagstaff, Arizona. When I lived in Arizona and would drive to Flagstaff, I would always comment on how much it looked like a scene out of Bonanza. The opening music was great too. By the way, who cooks, you or your mom? We had a very big lunch today at the buffet at The Speckled Bean Cafe at the flea market in Webster so we had a light supper of TV dinners. We both had the same thing which was the salisbury steak smothered in a stewed tomato type of sauce. With it was whole kernel corn which was very sweet and of course mashed potato. We got the Banquet brand which was only 88 cents at Walmart. Now you can't eat much cheaper than that. I took some pictures at the flea market with my new camera which came out good. I will be posting some of them. I put a 1 gigabyte SD chip into the camera so it has plenty of memory. There was a woman who was selling magazines at the flea market. I think that she is a distributor of magazines because she told me that she takes the ones that aren't sold and brings them to the flea market to sell. I bought the current copy of the Enquirer for one dollar and last weeks copy for 50 cents. I also got this weeks Globe for one dollar. These magazines are quite expensive at the check-out counter at the store. Now I can catch up on all of the Hollywood gossip. As far as the calm water on the ocean, when I did the environmental sampling we would sometimes go out into the bay in a boat. During the winter months the water was always choppy. During the summer months there were times when the water was as flat as glass. The boat sped over the flat calm water with ease. It was a great job except for the fact that the boat was open and there wasn't a lick of shade anywhere in the boat. This would result in my getting sunburnt many times. Enjoy your chicken and noodle soup. Personally I prefer the Campbell's won ton soup which tastes like chicken noodle soup but has the won tons instead of noodles. Have a good day. Lew
