Sunflower
It sure is sunny over here at the beach. Mom and I had Chinese food last night. I got a big container of won ton soup. I also got chicken with Chinese vegetables. I also made a container of tapioca pudding with the Agave sweetener. The sunflower doesn't last long ,so I took a couple of pictures. It shows me how it looked in the peak of bloom. My friend Dee told me about the movie" Up" which is kind of a cartoon, but is a very good comedy. I will probably also see the sequel of "Night at the Museum." I got a birthday coming up in June and Lillian does also. Mine is on June 8 and Lillian is on June 16.

Today was more branch cutting of the large oak tree in the backyard. One of the limbs was quite large and another was simply large. I have some more cutting to do tomorrow. A few more medium sized limbs on the oak tree and that should complete the cutting of the oak tree. Then it will be on to the camphor tree which is at the back of the house and the limbs are reaching the eave of the roof. This could be a problem with the branches rubbing on the roof shingles in a wind storm. But first I will tighten the chain of the chain saw that Mary uses for sectioning the logs. I will also do some electrical soldering on a lamp for her "light box" that she will use when she does a reverse glass painting which is really hard to paint. Plus the handle on the wheelbarrow broke in half due to rotten wood. I got a pressure treated 2" x 2" board from Loew's today and will install it tomorrow on the wheelbarrow. I am expecting some problems with that little chore. So I have a full slate of things to do tomorrow. We went to Arbie's and got our free roast beef sandwich today. We also each got the one dollar chocolate milk shake and split a medium size curly fry. Tonight we finished off the leftover pizza. By the way, Agave sweetener sounds familiar. Is that a south american fruit? As far as the sunflower, I had to uproot mine. Two of the three sunflowers had deformities. They had a few very large bulbous seeds and the rest were large. The leaves were deformed and had leaves growing out of the center of leaves. The second one didn't have any flower, just a bunch of deformed leaves where the flower should have been. Really, it was like something out of a horror movie, like Day of the Triffids. Since there was only one original sunflower last year from which these seeds came from, I am thinking that maybe it might be from a form of plant inbreeding which in animals is suppose to cause deformities. So out of the ground it was pulled and once again the Riders win the sunflower contest. Next year I will get some sunflower seeds from Jack of Jack and the Beanstalk fame and I will prevail over the Riders in the annual sunflower contest. I however will be gracious for now and admit that your sunflower does look really nice. But next year, well.....next year I shall post a picture of my sunflower proudly on my blog. For your birthday is there a favorite special cake that your mom makes you? I am thinking of my brother and how my mom made him a chocolate mayonaise cake for his birthday each year. That was his favorite. Mine was yellow cake with chocolate icing which she made for me each year for my birthday as well. How about your favorite? Will you and your mom travel to Williston for your birthday? Have a nice day. Lew
