I like pelicans
The patterns of pelicans amazes me. I love to see them fly in formation and I love to see them dive into the ocean to capture a fish. This is what the pelicans were doing last night when mom and I took Holly down to the entrance on 27 Avenue. They would fly in circles like circling vultures and do a dive like a bullet being shot into the water. I would see a splash of water off in the distance. I was just sorry I couldn't take the time to study them with my zoom camera. I wonder if they caught the fish they were seeking. At least they didn't hang around a boat looking for a handout. I cut a bouquet of roses out in the front yard and mom stuck them into a vase of water. The bottom is layered with gardenias. The rose and the gardenias have a sweet odor.

The roses are really pretty and so many of them (are there any left on the bush?). Using the gardenias around the base as an accent was a good idea also. It makes for a nice centerpiece. I have noticed that some roses have a nice smell and other roses just don't have any aroma at all to them. I don't why that is except maybe that is a characteristic of the different varieties of roses and some have an aroma and some don't. Sort of like the old almond joy and mounds commercial, "some days you feel like a nut and some days you don't". Actually, I always preferred the almond joy because of the milk chocolate coating. I have asked mary for a new camera for my birthday with more resolution. I like the compactness of the thin cameras and the rechargeable lithium ion batteries. By the way, are the tomatoes in the bowl on the table homegrown? They look to be quite large and plump. They would make for a good BLT sandwich with Miracle Whip instead of mayo. I like the tangyness of Miracle Whip. Enjoy your tomatoes and have a cool day. Lew
