I see blue skies

What another nice day. It was really warm around noon time, but later in the day the sun is less intense. Our next door neighbor got rid of her Spanish roof and is getting a new roof placed on her house. The last one had some major leaks and she decided it was time for a new roof. The guys hammer away and listen to the radio. Shirtless and not worried about skin cancer while they plug away for their paycheck. The weatherman says the cold weather is gone for the summer. It won't return until the fall. The warm weather is a great time for getting a new roof. It is also a great time for hanging up clothes and getting them dry. Tomorrow is the big trip. I hope to get Holly sleeping when we leave. Mom and I should be back later in the afternoon.

What a spectacular rose bush. So many roses. Someone has a green thumb. I see the wooden fence in the background. Is this bush in your back yard? While visiting Los Angeles once, I visited the rose gardens on the campus of the University of Southern California. It was huge. They would have around 20 rose bushes of one color and then 20 rose bushes of another color and on and on. The rose garden was absolutely huge and took over half an hour to walk around it without stopping. The rose bushes were just loaded with roses much like the one in the picture. Where are you going for the big trip? To pick up the dog Holly? Our cat Tammy went to the Silver Star Animal Hospital. She has been lethargic for about the past three days and just laying around and sleeping all of the time. I mean like day and night and her lethargy increased each day. We got worried about her and decided to take her to the veterinarian today. They said that she had a fever of 104 degrees. The vet felt that she had been scratched or bit by another cat and got an infection from the bite or scratch. The vet said that this was typical of her symptoms, particularly the fever. He checked her skin closely but couldn't find any skin cysts. He gave her an injection of antibiotics and also injected 100 cc of water (normal saline) just under the skin over her right pelvis. This was suppose to help cool her. They jokingly referred to her large lump of water under the skin as her saddlebag. The treatment is working because she has already perked up some, although not completely back to her old self yet. The vet wants her to be kept in the house and quiet for the next 72 hours. Would this be considered similar to house arrest or bed rest? Plus the vet gave us a bottle of liquid antibiotic with a medicine dropper and we have to give her 1 cc twice a day until it is gone. So she is on the road to recovery. Some bully type cat must have beat her up. Hope you enjoy your dog while you have her. I remember a picture of her and she looked like she would be a good lap dog. Have a nice evening. Lew
