Here in Williston

I am working on a different computer that doesn't allow me access to the pictures. I can not figure out the trouble. I am in Williston on my sister's computer and when I go to get some pictures it knocks me off the blog site. Mom and I did get here safely and I did take lots of pictures of her horse Gator. He is very photogenic. He also loves to be brushed and loves the attention that Glendon my sister gives him. The weather has turned very wet, damp and gray since mom and I arrived . Mom and Glendon are out visiting someone who use to work with my mom in Orlando years ago before mom worked for the State of Florida. This lady is named Susan Rudder and she will be happy to see and talk with my mom about the times they worked together for East Coast Migrant Head start Project. I was fortunate enough to stay here and watch Bonanza. The last episode was about a ghost town named Martinville which Little Joe was named sheriff. I got some good cat pictures of my sister's cat. I especially like the closeups. This is sure different not to have a picture to write with. This will change when I return to New Smyrna Beach.

When people think of Arizona, they think of hot dry burning desert. And that is what it is in the southern half of the state. But the northern half of the state it is wooded with forests of pine trees. Plus it is cool. Very pleasant and refreshing from the heat of the desert. We would drive from Phoenix to Flagstaff fairly often. Especially in the summertime. Flagstaff is located in the northern half of the state and is wooded and cool. It is a mile high in elevation with the elevation being a little over 5000 feet. We would drive up the interstate highway which ran due north from Phoenix to Flagstaff. There was an area about 30 miles before getting to Flagstaff. It reminded me of the very beginning of the show Bonanza where Ben Cartwright and his sons would come riding up to the camera. The area was forested and then the forest ended on a hillside and then an open area with an occassional tree dotted here and there. The open area just seemeed to go on and on. It was really nice to see and looked just like the country that Bonanza was set in. Bonanza was a good series and entertaining. The only thing that I noticed is that if Little Joe fell in love with some girl, well.........it seemed that she would meet her end before the show was over by some bad gunslinger in town. I figure that they couldn't have Little Joe getting married on the series. Have a nice day on the farm. Lew
