The shuttle is the little dot in the picture
There wasn't much in the way of a shuttle view today. Mom and I were able to view the launch from a roof top loft thanks to our neighbor Pauline, who arraigned with a friend from her church, a place for us to watch. I got more views of the birds on the wires than a bright light ascending into the sky. I didn't even get to hear the sonic rumble of the engines after a launch. It use to shoot up the coast like the blades of a helicopter taking off. The tiny little speck in the middle of the picture is the shuttle. It was threatening rain at launch time, but now it is hazy and overcast. It still looks like a very hot day. The neighbor kid across the street just dragged in from a hard day at school. I bet he would want something cool to drink and a television set to forget school for awhile. Maybe a better launch next time. I hope.

We didn't have all that great of a view here in Orlando either. We could see the smoke trail and it looked like the shuttle was going straight up. You are right, no rumbles. But wait 11 days until it comes back and we get to hear the sonic boom. Mary and I went to a place to get the both the black and color cartridges of her printer refilled, then dropped off some books and a DVD at the library and off to WalMart. Back home for lunch and then Mary went off to pick up her printer ink cartridgers while I stayed home and watch the prelaunch on television. Was it hot for you up on the roof? Wasn't there a rock and roll song from the 60's about "up on the roof"? After the launch I did a little work outside but it was just too hot so I came back inside and loaded some software onto my laptop. I got the dictionary to load onto the laptop but not the Comptom's encyclopedia. It may be too old. It says on the package that Windows 3.1 is required. Now that is old. Have a good day and may the Lord look down upon you and smile. Lew
