Boats that float
I thought this boat looked kind of interesting. It reminded me of "The African Queen" from the movie with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. The sunken house boat is still there. I heard on the news where Volusia was going to clean up the abandon boats, but I haven't seen evidence of it yet. The birds really chirp early in the morning and late in the evening. They kind of quiet down in the heat of the day. I guess they may be looking for a cool dark spot until it actually got cooler. I wonder what this boat must have been carrying? Do you think it might have been a fishing boat? Do you think this was privately owned or used for commercial use? I wonder what they named the boat? This is just interesting stuff to think about.

I think that the boat is a small freighter. There is what looks like a boom midships which is probably used for loading cargo onto and off the ship. The ship is riding high in the water because you can see the waterline from the barnacles on the bottom of the ship. I see the drain holes along the side of the ship just below the railing which is for water to drain off the deck when waves break over the side of the ship. But I don't think that the ship can take too heavy of a storm because the windows in the wheel house which is the top deck are very large which would make them susceptible to breakage if a wave hit them. The name is usually on the back of the ship and I can see some white paint at the back of the ship which is probably the beginning of the name. I have no idea what that large mast is projecting from the top of the ship up past the top of the picture. The ship is anchored so it didn't drift there. Every picture is a story in itself and it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words. Gotta go. Have a nice day. Lew
