Getting things in order
I am so happy. I finally figured how to get back into my icq mail account. I have an icq number which I never paid much attention. I always thought my icq address would gain me access to my account. I was wrong. Over the weekend I could not gain access and grew frustrated. I could not get any direct tech help. They have a tech board full of other icq lost customers. This is especially due to AOL taking over the operation. There are a few bugs in the system. I had my coffee and feel pretty perked this morning. It is still too early for the sun to come up. This is garbage day and we found out there will be no pick up on New Year's day which turns out to be Thursday. Mom and I had the second day beef stew with a big salad for dinner. I am hoping for the roast in the frig for today's dinner meal.Cooler weather is suppose to come back starting tonight. I would like it a little bit cooler. I haven't thought as far as New year's eve or New years day. I just hope it will be a good one. Lots of new stuff coming like a new President, the Casey Anthony trial, and maybe some new movies. This is a picture of Velvet drinking water from inside the mini pasture.

Speaking of salads, I went to a Denny's and when I ordered my meal I noticed that a salad was included as one of the two choices of sides. I was expecting a little bitty side dish but when it came it was as big as a dinner salad. It was quite good with lots of goodies on it. And it was also quite filling. So if you have an opportunity to go to Denny's, you may want to order the salad as one of the sides. But when I go to Cracker Barrel I don't order a salad as a side. I usually get the fried apples side dish which is wedge sliced cooked apples in a heavy rich sweet sauce. It is soooo good. It is more like a dessert than a side. Cracker Barrel is so nice to go to because they have so much stuff to look at while waiting for the food. I have never had a bad experience there. Tonight Mary made pork barbeque ribs in a slow cooker with barbeque sauce. The meat just falls off the ribs because of being cooked in the slow cooker. THe slow cooker really tenderizes any type of meat you put into it. We had baked potato and mixed vegetables (sliced carrot, broccoli, and cauliflower pieces). It was all very good. I ate until I was full and then some so I had to pass on an offer of ice cream (maple walnut) for dessert. We couldn't take the kitten to the vet today for a recheck of its leg because the vet didn't come into work today. They gave us an appointment for tomorrow. I hope that they take the restraint bandage off so that the kitten doesn't have to hobble around on three legs any more. Did I say hobble? Hardly!! That kitten can fly through the house on three legs, climb, and jump and all sorts of other things. However, I don't think that she has climbed up into the Christmas tree since her leg got bandaged. She is such a sweet kitten. She likes to fall asleep in my arms as I cradle her much as you would cradle a baby. I am listening to Amazing Grace by Andre Rieu. It is such a sad yet pretty song. It always reminds me of my mom, her strength, and how she would want me to be. I bet that you miss your dad also. You always think of your parents as always being there. Their passing can come so unexpectedly and we are not prepared for it which makes it all the worse. Well, enough dreary talk. Tomorrow after the vet we are going to see the movie Valkyrie starring Tom Cruise at West Oaks Mall because tomorrow is "Senior Tuesday" at the movie theater with A $ 5.00 admission. It is going to be a busy day tomorrow. Wednesday (New Years eve) we are planning on going to the Holiday House for lunch since we missed the Thanksgiving office party. We will be spending New Years eve at home. There are just too many drunks on the roads to be out there driving. Have a good day and enjoy the coming cold front. Lew
