Waiting for the weekend

There is a helicopter flying around before dawn along the beach. It makes me wonder if anyone might be lost at sea? The buzzing helicopter reminded me of when I lived in a suburb of Orlando called Pine Hills and the Sheriff's helicopter would be buzzing around on a regular schedule at night. I found it annoying, because it disturbed my sense of peace.
The helicopter is gone now and so is my first cup of coffee. I saw a lot of cloud cover so I doubt there will be any sunrise this morning. Mom and I were supposed to have the yard cut, but the yard guy did not show yesterday. I haven't checked on the progress of Fay. Fay is supposed to be the next tropical storm if not Hurricane coming towards the Florida Coast.
I kind of like this picture, because it looks like an abandoned houseboat. I wonder who owned it? Is it there to be some kind of coral reef or oysters growing on it? I guess it adds to the scenery.

If the helicopter flying was at night then I agree they were probably looking for someone. I have heard that during the daytime they will fly helicopters over the beach looking for sharks in the water. One time down in Miami at Turkey Point Dan and I were flying in the corporate helicopter and we went out along the shoreline. There were about a dozen people in the water. I was amazed to see about five or six sharks in the water close to them. The pilot said that that type of situation was common (sharks near people). The pilot said that the people would not even be aware of how close the sharks are. He said if they were they would probably panic and scramble out of the water. I know that if I were in the water and there were sharks nearby I would be at the front of the pack racing to get out of the water. I like the name of the storm, Fay. Reminds me of Fay Wray of King Kong fame. I am not sure which I like better, the original or the remake. I think that I lean a little towards the original. How sad for that houseboat. The top portion looks to be in pretty good shape. I wonder if it may have been left there by some snowbirds and they don't know that it has sunk. Houseboats are slow moving but nice because there is lots of room to walk around. And the slow speed can be sort of relaxing. When my parents came to Florida they took a jungle river cruise. The boat held around 40 or 50 people and sat so low in the water. The boat only about a foot above the water. The boat sailed out of West Palm Beach on a small river. It went through a jungle type of woods. You really thought that you were in some South American jungle going up the Amazon. The boat stopped at an island where there was a Seminole village and the Seminole women in their native costumes selling souvenirs. It was a delightful adventure for a young lad from New York. I was just filled with the excitement of the adventure of it all. Now I just go see an Indiana Jones movie. The old underdeveloped Florida had its plusses. I am sure that the houseboat could be repaired and refloated. It is too nice to just leave in the water. My brother once had a small houseboat like the one in the picture and he just loved it. He lived in Merritt Island and would take it out on the river there. Stay cool. Lew
