The memory lives on

Walter Cronkite, that is the way it will always be in the hearts of every American who saw a television set with his picture on it. Walter wanted to be the first Journalist in space after he retired. Fortunately, this did not happen. This was right after we lost the first teacher in space. Walter was far too valuable to send into space. However, he did a Superb job of covering the moon landings. When Walter retired from the CBS news Dan Rather carved his own style, but he was no Walter Cronkite. I still recall the images of Walter sailing on his big yacht with his daughter. He looked so happy and very content. Walter opened the recording introduction of Katie Couric the current CBS news anchor. This added a touch of class and was one of the last things he accomplished.The age 92 is a good long time to live, but it still seemed to short for Walter Cronkite.
