A boat ride
There is a vent on the outside my house that has a fluttering sound like a old deck of thinly sliced wooden cards being shuffled all night long. Last night the sound was real strong and so was the wind. I had my mom's face turning slightly green as I was describing being on a ship out in the wind at night. The waves moving the boat up and down and side to side. You can hear the sloshing of the water against the sides of the boat. You can smell the strong salt water in the air and the salt spray that stings and dries your face. The motion sicken is too much to bare, so you hang your head over the side of the boat to relieve the pressure which had been building inside of you. Does this help? It is kind of unlikely because this is similar to what my sister and I went through riding a glass bottom boat off the coast of Freeport, Bahamas. All the passenger were expecting a cruise like ride to see the expensive houses along the island and the undersea life which lived below the glass in the center of the boat. However, our driver was careless and thrived on other people's misery. There was one lady who was in tears and offered to pay him, if he would just turn around and go back to shore. He laughed with a tone of defiance. This urged him to cut through the waves sharper and make the boat go faster as he continued to laugh." He didn't want to rob the other passengers of their trip. " This is what he stated to be his soul purpose. I was green, but I didn't throw up, but my sister did. It was a ride we would remember for a very long time.

What on earth could that noise have been? Are you close to the dryer vent? They usually have a movable flab. How about the chimney of the fireplace? Sometimes they will have a damper inside the chimney or a rain cover over the top. But is sounds like probably a shingle raising up or a part of the roof edge trim is loose. Was it scarry for you? When I was young, the shadows of the tree limbs from the moonlight moving on my bedroom windows at night use to scare me. I had a double bed in a very small room. There wasn't room for anything else. The room next to mine was the bathroom with an old fashioned cast iron tub set on claw legs that looked like lions feet. It had a sloping back which made it very comfortable to relax in when taking a hot bath. I like taking a toothpick and sticking it through a piece of paper to make a sail for my floating bar of ivory soap. I would blow on it to make it go around in the bathtub. Bath-time was fun-time for me when I was young. And there was no overflow drain on the tub so I could fill it all the way up to the top. Yeah, many times the water would spill over the side when I was playing in the bathwater with my ivory soap boat and make a mess. My mom was nice and wouldn't scold me but just ask me to be more careful next time to not spill the water and not fill the tub up so far. She was a kind woman. No shower in the tub, just this enormous old-fashioned tub. The first time that I went on a glass bottom boat ride, I was nervous that someone might drop something down onto the glass and break it. But the boat went slowly and the view was quite spectacular. Plus it went around in a fresh water lagoon. I think that it was the one at Silver Springs. I use to like that submarine ride at Disney also. I liked looking out of the glass portals. Once again, nervous. If the submarine should spring a leak would I be able to get out because there were a lot of people in the submarine. Would I be able to get out in time? Fortunately, the submarine ride never sprung a leak. When you went to Freeport in the Bahamas, did you and your sister go there by cruise ship? They are really nice to travel on. The cruise ships are so elegant and luxurious. Was your mom and dad with you? Tonight for supper was fish (remember it's Friday) and a baked potato plus raisin bread and jello for dessert. For lunch Mary made these very large hot dogs (broiled) and put the hot dogs into these gigantic buns. I like these buns because then there is plenty of room for the condiments. The traditional condiments for hot dogs. Not chili. No, not sauerkaraut. Yes, relish, mustard, and chopped onion. It was good and a meal in itself because the whole thing was the size of two normal hot dogs. We had potato chips with the hot dogs. Plus I also had some sweet pickles. Very filling. Gotta go. Have a nice day and enjoy. Lew
