The start of the Labor Day Weekend

It's Friday morning August 29, 2008 and I have had my first cup of coffee. Plus, I have talked with my sister using night minutes on my cell phone. Mom and I went out last night for a little ice cream treat. I got a waffle cone with some almond ice cream and a little chocolate dripped on top. The almond ice cream almost tasted like cherry ice cream. It all went down so well together. The beach was about the same as I have seen on other nights. I did see a few more pelicans flying over head on the beach. Mom and I didn't stay long. The storm clouds were coming our way and the Democratic Convention was on. Mom didn't want to miss Obama's acceptance speech. I considered the way he spoke a cross between a preacher and a football coach. I have seen on I forget which television show about the late night comics, making political fun of the Democratic National Convention. The part where Obama's little girl says" I love you daddy." The comic had John Edwards face posted with a little blond baby running up saying" I love you daddy." The comic was poking fun at Edward's affair and the child he said was not his own.

How about pistachio ice cream. There is a sundae called "green and gooey". It is green pistachio ice cream (has to be green) smothered in marshmallow topping with a dollop of whip cream on top and a red maraschino cherry. You really have to have a sweet tooth for this one. Your picture is exactly what I use to do. When I did the sampling out in the bay of Miami for work, there was no place to eat. The boat driver said that he knew of a place called Alabama Jack's. It was country-western, located right on the water and had a place for boats to tie up. We would drive the boat down there, have a hamburger, and then coninue on with our work afterwards. It looks like you can do the same thing at the restaurant in the picture. What was also neat was that we had to go through this winding extremely narrow channel called Midnight Pass. A colorful name. There were others like Caeser's Creek, Pumpkin Key, etc. I like the boat. Sort of looks like a houseboat. You could live on that boat. So much room to walk around. I am surprised to see an outboard motor on a boat that size. On the lakes in Arizona it is popular to rent houseboats for a day or a week. People will drive them up the numerous side canyons on the lake for spectacular views. Sadly I never got to do it. Procrastination. Have a nice day and go to the library and check out a movie for free. While you are there, check out some back issues of magazines as well. It's all free. Enjoy. Lew
