Christmas Lunch and Engagement Ring

I told Lillian I would do a close up on her ring the next time we meet for lunch or something. I didn't understand this was what she truly wanted. I thought she wanted a good picture of the ring on her finger which we set up some poses which I thought were flattering. She was suppose to rest her hand on small pillow that looked like a bridal pillow. Flowers were placed around her hand. The ring was the center piece with the flowers to balance out the picture. I got about three shots with one I thought was fuzzy. Plus, I got two pictures with her and a red hibiscus in her hair. The Christmas lunch was very nice with roast beef as the main course cooked by John Williamson the chief boss. There were other types of meal dish sides to compliment. There was a green bean casserole with the fried onion bits and cream of mushroom soup. There was cheese potatoes, dirty rice, salad from the Olive Garden, rolls and bread sticks from the Olive Garden. Mom made a rum cake for dessert. Plus there was a key lime pie, pecan pieces, chocolate chip cookies and regular white frosting cake to go with the rum cake.

It was a nice Christmas party and time to meet old friends and former coworkers. Leon sat next to me and he told me that he might retire next year. He said that he will have 35 years with the state by then. He told me that his wife has a house in Brazil and that when he retires that he and his wife plan to move to Brazil to live in the house. Lillian did have a very nice engagement ring with a very unique style of cut. It looked like a Marquis cut to me but she said that it was oval. The buffet table was great with all kinds of good eats. A fine time seemed to be had by all. Next week is Christmas and this weekend will be the last chance for people to do their Christmas shopping and I think that I will stay in the house to avoid the traffic jams and irate people in the parking lots looking for places to park their cars. When this is suppose to be the season for giving it seems to be the season for taking when it comes to parking spots and tempers flare. The weatherman said that it is suppose to cool off next week which will be nice for Christmas and put everyone in the Christmas spirit if their is a little nip in the air. Mary's kitten seems to be doing better. She has adapted to walking around and even running with only three legs on the ground. The fourth leg is taped up so that she can't extend it until the bones have a chance to heal. She goes back to the vet on the 29th for a recheck of the leg. The kitten is so sweet. I think that she is going to be an exceptionally good cat.
    Take care. Lew
