The day before January 20th.
It feels like the day before the Super Bowl with all the celebration in Washington D.C. Mom and I will be watching the Swearing In Ceremony at noon tomorrow. I was wondering if having little hot dogs dipped in mustard and cheese was appropriate for a mini lunch. I was watching one of my all time favorite Cary Grant movies "Arsenic and Old Lace." Cary Grant has the knack for comedy. He plays the character Mortimer Brewster who is a newly wed to a very young pretty bride who keeps taunting him with whistles of "Here comes the bride." In one scene, Mortimer tells his new wife "for heaven's sake keep your shirt on." Mortimer encounters his evil brother Jonathan played by Boris Karloff. The makeup has Boris Karloff looking like Frankenstein on Diet drugs. Cary Grant's character of Mortimer triumphs over his evil brother Jonathan played by Boris Karloff. Everyone at the end of the movie lives happily ever after. This is my ideal ending for all movies.

I agree about the excitement of the inauguration. I assume that all of the channels will be carrying it live. The mini hot dogs sounds like a good idea. Small hot dogs or sausage wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked would be good dipped in mustard also. The last time Mary made those mini hot dogs wrapped in creascent rolls I put some mustard on my plate and dipped them into the mustard. I like to use a yellow mustard because it is milder. I think that the entire nation will come to a stand-still when it is time for the swearing in. Such a historical moment. What type of cheese will you use for dipping the mini hot dogs in? A cheese type dip or cheese whiz which I loved as a kid? You could also have some "scoops style" chips and French onion dip. Or to be a little more daring, chunky salsa and tortilla chips. When it comes to Mexican, I have to go with the mild sauces. Today I finshed the raking of the leaves for now. There I was raking the leaves when a gust of wind came up. It looked as though it was snowing, but instead of snowflakes it was leaves. So many came down at once from that wind gust that it was quite a sight to see even if it was undoing all of my hard raking.
Boris Karloff had that deep voice and deadpan stare. If you ever have a chance to watch the movie War of the Worlds from the 50's, it is Boris Karloff who does the narration at the very beginning of the movie. His voice is just unmistakable. I assume that you and your mom have cable television so that you don't need a special converter box after February. Right now the kitten is lying on top of my scanner on my computer desk. The scanner is located to the right of the computer monitor. The kitten is purring because her tummy is full. She has just had supper which consisted of three courses. The first course was her catfood which is the good kind that comes in a foil pouch. It is damp and is meat or fish. Then she got some of the hamburger meat that Mary had fried up for the spaghetti sauce. Then she finished off the spaghetti that was given to the dog but the dog just got full and couldn't eat it all. As you can see the animals here are well-fed. I can tell when she has fallen asleep because the purring stops. The purring has stopped and she is in dream land. A happy kitty who was saved from the grim reaper at the last moment by Mary. The cat follows us throughout the house where ever we are. She doesn't like to be in a room by herself. Have a good evening and get to bed early because tomorrow is going to be a long day with all of the inauguration ceremonies. Enjoy your mini dogs. Lew
