A nice little dinner
There was a ocean breeze today and the clouds came and took the sun away. The rain never came, but it seems nicer than days before . This evening seems pretty nice inside the house. I will be watching "America's got talent" starting at nine tonight. Dinner was cream of chicken soup and chicken broth and noodles. Plus, tuna fish on crackers. I do like tuna on crackers, cheese and crackers, lunch meat like turkey on crackers. Afterwards a little chocolate can finish off the evening.

One of my favorite treats when I was young was peanut butter and jelly on a saltine. It was always grape jelly. That was probably because Welch's grape jelly came in jars that could be used as a drinking glass afterwards. They were pretty neat because of the design on the glass which were cartoon characters. And the designs were painted on, not decals like today. There were syvester, tweety, and a host of other cartoon characters. Now when I am in an antique shop and I see these cartoon jelly glasses I "remember when". As I got older and learned of Ritz crackers, then I would preferentially use the Ritz crackers for the peanut butter and jelly. As I got a little bit older, I discovered putting cream cheese and grape jelly on crackers. But the grape jelly remained the same which was the Welch's in the cartoon glasses. Have a nice day and enjoy your hors d'oeuvre. Finger food, as I call appetizers, are always fun to eat. Lew
